Wendy Newhofer
biography
Originally trained as a primary school teacher I found that working part time allowed me to pursue my interests in art. A relocation to Oxford gave me the opportunity to go back to college and do a Foundation in Art and Design where I first encountered kiln formed glass on a short course. I was immediately captivated by the process but there were no permanent facilities at the college.
I spent 3 years on a part time Fine Art degree course before setting up a working glass studio at home and going back to the glass which had fired my enthusiasm.
The drawing skills that were part of my Fine Art degree course have been a strong influence in my work today .
